Beware the “Free Appraisal”
Although an opinion of value offered free-of-charge by an auctioneer or dealer can be useful if one is contemplating the sale or consignment of a property, it is not a professional appraisal and does not meet the requirements of the IRS or most insurance companies.
As appraising is our only business, we can assure you not only confidentiality and competency, but the professional objectivity required for legal matters and disputes and tax matters going before the IRS. Our written appraisal reports include documentary photographs and the required components for submission to the courts, the IRS and insurance companies.
Our appraisal reports meet all current professional standards, including those of the federally mandated Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) for Personal Property, the Internal Revenue Service’s requirements for Qualified Appraisers and Qualified Appraisals, and the American Society of Appraiser’s Principles of Appraisal Practice and Code of Ethics.
